I got a modern Danelectro bass neck from a “Danelectro-fan” at 4Sound in Umeå. It was a bit warped, but some steam treatment and drying in a fixture together with re-sanding the fretboard (required a re-fretting as well) brought the neck back in shape. I also borowed a real vintage Danelectro body from him so I could take the shape and dimensions. I adopted the idea that this should be a cheap project and the material is scrap wood left over from other projects and cheap fiber-board (Masonite). The bridge, saddle, microphone and pick-guard are modern Danelectro spare parts. You may notice that the combination of a 24 fret neck and this body is not a normal combination, but it works quite well. It is more common to find this neck in combination with the “longhorn”-body.
