After 11 guitars I thought I was ready to design my “own” guitar. All the previous ones are basically copies/replicas of famous guitar models. So based on the things I liked with the other models, I came up with this design. This first one, consist of the components and material I had in stock and I consider this one to be a prototype to test the outcome of the design. It has a 3 piece alder body. The neck is maple and the headstock is spliced to a 13 degree angle. It uses a Gibson scale length and the pickups are some spare DiMarzio ones.
I think the guitar is really nice and comfortably to play. The only thing I can consider changing for the next one is to try a dual humbucker pickup solution. This neck pickup is really good, but I think that the bridge pickup could have been somewhat richer and fatter sounding. I’ll try some other pickup in the future. But, I will first build a couple more of these guitars with different material and pickup combinations.
