Almost directly after the first guitar I started to plan my next guitar. At this time I read some more how to build guitars (lots of information is available on the internet, but believe me, a good book such as Melvin Hiscock’s Build your own electric guitar is greatly recomended). However, with this guitar I had my kids in mind. I started with a body shape that was quite PRS inspired. I shrunk it down a bit to make it suitable for the kids. The scale length is the shorter Gibson (24.75″). The body has a curved maple top on mahogany back. The neck is laminated mahogany with red book stripes. The neck is glued to the body at a few degrees angle. This guitar also uses Seymour Duncan pickups. A ‘Jazz’ in neck position and a ‘JB’ in bridge position.
This guitar has more soft tone, compared to the first one.
